Week 4 - SUNDAY

Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is having a great week so far. For those of you that missed last weeks study on trees you really missed out, we had an great time going out geo cashing, and some people got pretty creative with their repensentation of a tree. This week we will look at what repersents SUNDAY in your life. For most Christians we wake up on Sunday morning, pickout out our best suits or dresses, work on our best smile, and head off to church. We give or 10 percent to the collection plate, then shake hands with the Pastor, telling him on the way out how great the sermon was, then we are on our way to lunch. Is this the way God really intented for Sundays to be? Is SUNDAY just another duty to be proformed every week so that we can feel good about ourselves and have our free meal ticket to Heaven? Or is SUNDAY a day you look forward to, coming into fellowship with other believers to worship our Lord and Savior and Redeemer, entering into His courts with Praise and Thanksgiving? Are you grateful to not only give what the Lord asks but give an offering from your heart? Do you want to hear the Word of God spoken and do you mind having your way of thinking challenged and maybe even sometimes corrected?
Let's take a moment . . .stop . . .and think what does Sunday mean to you?

1. Have you ever attended a church service out of a sense of duty or because you think you're suppose to?

2. Is it possible to be interested in Christian faith but turned off by Christianity?

3. When it comes to church, what do you think God has in mind?

Remember, your suppose to be honest, there is no right or wrong answers, it's just to get us thinking.
DON'T FORGET to bring something you feel represents SUNDAY and I know we are all excited to see what Tony is going to bring for food (hopefully not one chicken nugget per person LOL)
See EVERYONE on Thursday, trust me this one is a good one!

Answer 1: Unfortunatly yes, sometimes we get in a comfort zone and don't push to get where we need to be in our sprirtual walk.

Answer 2: Because it is too easy to get turned off by hypocritical christians, and some people will use that as an excuse to not want to go to church.

Answer 3: To be more a family of support and hae a place where you can go where you will not be judged and have a place you feel "comfortable" in to worhip.

ANSWER:1 YES I WOULD USUALLY GO FOR THE GIRLS. NOW SINCE GOD BOUGHT ME ONE I DONT HAVE TO, YET IT WAS CAUSE OF A GIRL I WENT TO CHURCH FOR AND I GOT SAVED, SO THERE IT IS! BOOOOOO YAAA!

ANSWER:2 YES CAUSE THERES A FACT GOING OUT AROUND THAT CHRISTIANS LIVE MORE LONGER THAN A NON CHRISTIAN DOES, PROBABLY CAUSE OF STRESS AND WORRIES ARE DOWN THAN A NON CHRISTIAN. AND YES THERE ARE THOSE "CHRISTIANS" WHO ARE STRICK AND THAT TURNS OFF A PERSON FROM TRYING TO LEARN MORE OF WHAT "GOD" IS THAT THEY DONT SEE ANY FUN AND ANYTHING COOL ABOUT THAT.

ANSWER 3: NO ONE KNOWS WHAT GOD HAS IN MIND FOR CHURCH. SOME CHURCHS FOLLOW THE LINE, SOME "LIKE OURS" IS ALWAYS DIFFERENT AND JUST LET IT FLOW INSTEAD OF FOLLOWING THIS LINE AND NOT LETTING GOD MOVE.

1. Yes, I usually go w/my parents.

2. Yes, the christian faith is your own belief in Christ. Christianty is under the umbrella of all faiths. There are so many people using the title "Christian", though their life doesn't refelct Christ at all.

3. That we would become on body and fellowship with other christians. Worship Christ with no inhibitions.

1. Well, when I was younger, when I was really little only cause my parents told me to, then because I wanted to hang out with my friends, or find a boyfriend, alot of reasons, but that was a long long time ago. I go now because I love the Lord and it is a privelege to come into the House of God, and I love to worship him, and of course I like to preach!

2. nope, i don't think so. i think it is possible to seek the Christian Faith and be turned off by religion, but not Christianity. Christianity is being Christ like, unfortunately there are alot of people who have turned their "Christianity" into their own ideas, rules, or personal convictions.

3. God has a perfect plan for the church, but unfortunately we hinder the work of God alot! It is somewhat my idea of what I believe . . . the church is to function as ONE BODY, and we should all be interdependent upon one another. I believe we should have the utmost respect for the sanctuary. I think that we should enter into services with praise and thanksgiving. We should worship God and also we should be excited about hearing God's Word. I think church was designed to be ALOT more than what it is today. No schedule, no timing, just entering into the Holy of Holies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Communing with God. The church is not a building but the church is God's people!!!!!!
